I guess republicans want a lesson on health care like they needed a lesson in tariffs…what an uneducated and bought off lot.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Guys I found the perfect holiday gift for the Post editorial board (home of free markets and personal liberties™️): this artistically framed vintage magazine ad, taunting corporate execs with the question “Is your washroom breeding Bolsheviks?” because they’re too cheap for Scot towels

DC gov news, which I am coming to late because I don’t promptly read Friday afternoon emails from OCTO: In an upheaval of AI policy (which had banned AI tools unless they were approved for each user), every DC user now has Copilot chat.

Better get used to seeing that writing style.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

Before my 21st birthday, a dear friend took time out of his Hill internship to request congratulatory letters from GOP senators to me, their alleged constituent. I got a stack of 30 letters from the likes of Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, and Thad Cochran. It was a simpler time, with no pics.
Maybe he bought out all of Jesse Helms old mailing lists

Senate Dem logic: we must cave now to preserve our ability to cave in the future
What about this? What Senate Dems really "got" was preservation of the filibuster (for a while longer).

Seems genuinely possible that that is what impelled them.
