I think we built opaque systems across the board that don't do a very good job of reminding people why or how they are supposed to work, what their goals are, etc, and after roughly a generation of the PMC the foundations have been forgotten and have to be rediscovered by fire

I've only had two books show any real signs of damage after I finished them: Lonesome Dove, b/c it was a used mass-market that I folded a lot, and War & Peace, b/c it was a clothbound and the painted lettering rubbed off after I took to Finland and the beach

Kind of. It works if the total calorie consumption ends up being a reduction, but it's not the most effective way to do that. Depends on your habits tho

What are the chances of a follow-up episode on his more recent book, Nexus? I had mixed feelings about the writing but now I feel like I should be more suspicious of the material.
