People still constantly bring up my AI Statement page in the Scream zine. Some folks say it made them cry! I was going to be more eviscerating but instead felt the best way to make my point was just to be totally raw and vulnerable in a way AI can't be. sara-century.square.site
Scream mask on a black background This zine was not created by AI. It took me a year to write, from early 2023 to early 2024. I spent several more months agonizing over edits, desperately rephrasing sentences out of coherence and back again. Even with all of that work, it isn't perfect. It will never be perfect. I will never be perfect. Imperfect people will read it and I love that for us. This zine was not created by AI. I wrote it and rewrote it during a really hard time in my life. Many times, it seemed like I'd turned 40 and had been unceremoniously dropped back to Square One by life. I couldn't see how I could make anything work. So, I made a zine. This zine was not created by AI. Every time I almost gave up, I worked through it instead. By the time it was finished, it felt like a small epiphany for how I wanted to make art going forward. This zine was not created by AI. Finishing it was a gift I gave myself when I felt devalued and defeated. It's a love letter to myself, horror movies, and I guess to all of us. This zine was not created by AI. It was created by me.

Magnus Hirschfeld, a gay Jewish socialist, was not an obscure figure, as much as his deliberate omission from our history curriculum would suggest otherwise. He was world-famous. Adolf Hitler himself publicly called Hirschfeld "The most dangerous Jew in Germany". He was pen-pals with Emma Goldman.

It’s #WorldAIDSDay - Did you know sanitation and barriers are industry standard in tattooing because Cliff Raven, a gay tattooer from Chicago, made sure he could still provide service to his own community as most shops refused to tattoo homosexuals when the AIDS crisis emerged?

In a letter to Raven, one artist explains feeling relief that police raids closed him down. "I do not fancy working continually with people's BLOOD on my hands in these plague days of anguish and horrible viruses which they... don't know shit about," he says. His community's palpable anxiety bolstered Raven's commitment to providing a medical-grade sterile environment, and it secured him as a beacon to gay men who wanted ink. Pat Fish, the last tattooer trained by Raven, recalls him saying three things are necessary to be a good tattoo artist: art, craft, and morals. Part of having morals meant prioritizing clients' health. "He made me buy an autoclave before he let me buy a tattoo machine," she laughs. This was in 1985. According to her, gloves weren't even industry standard until a doctor led a workshop on it at a tattoo convention in 1986—though Greg James, another tattooer who worked with Raven, says they were slowly becoming common in the early 80s. Raven began wearing them in the late 70s, and he was using an autoclave, the machine hospitals use to sterilize reusable equipment, as early as 1970.

did a little piece in magma about tenna from deltarune and how detached he is from everyone/how unknowable he feels. i really feel so much for him

happy halloween #deltaruined, wanted to play with a heart-themed "costume" for sneo & was enamored with where this went
sp*mton neo stands in a very wide stanced deep squat, with his knees at sub 90 degree angles. his pelvis is completely upright, stabilizing his spine in an upright curve, with his arms raise over his head to smooth back his hair. to his chassis, a series of scraps of fabric cut into hearts of increasing size are strapped with a broad belt. he has no other ornamentation, and his "chained heart" is represented at the end of a long tail, it has a goofy grin and similar glasses. to the right is another narrower drawing of sneo in a kneeling pose with his arms behind him, dressed the same.

another version of the previous drawing where the pippins is instead pinned under the king's stomach and dripping cum. They have a dizzy face, and the king is supporting his stomach with one hand to keep from squishing the pippins too much. He has a light blush and his upper arm on that side is resting casually on his side where his lower arms extend. there is no visible bulge or genitalia.

tenna tugging on his antennae and yelling "I'M DISAPPEARING, I KNOW I AM" spamton clambers onto tenna's back as he fumes and says "You gotta [GET UP G-G-GET DOWN] outta your head [CATHODE]", there are two clicking sounds as he unplugs a cable in the back of tenna's neck. tenna's face turns to static as spamton clicks and slides the panel holding his antennae off of his head, his expression is a little more hesitant. spamton continues, "Lightners ain't the only ones with [PEEPERS]." and turns to slide off of tenna's back. tenna looks up even more hesitant, and his screen has lightened to pale again. spamton places the plate and tenna's antennae on top of his own head.
