she/they?
control in particular burned me a little because it leans on AAA semi-RPG design trends and it really fumbled that game for me between the (iirc) gear system and enemies becoming damage sponges over time

i do not care for their encounter design & gunplay across alan wake 1, control and aw2
aw2 is better off cus it’s survival horror rather than action but like the first game plays like legit ass to the point it feels insane knowing it came from the same ppl who made mp2

I like a lot of what’s goin on in their newer games except for the part where you actually play them

that arc in the anime’s pretty cool between all that and the “it’s time to cut to bulma fucking around and occasionally being uncharacteristically stupid” filler

ppl always liked xenogears more afaik and in comparison square generally treats that game w/ more reverence even if they haven‘t been bothered to re-release it since it hit the psp/ps3 store as a psone classic. namco might have kos-mos show up in something every 15 yrs if they remember they own her

a ps5 exclusive remaster would sell five copies max

xenosaga especially tbh because like. imma be real man p. much nobody’s gonna give a shit about a remaster trilogy outside of xenoblade fans

in their case it already felt like the only reason we got two numbered xenoblades (on top of two very substantial DLCs, one of which was literally available standalone) on switch 1 was because 3 was very asset reuse-friendly

depending on how long monolith’s next game has been cooking i could easily see that being the only thing they put out this gen lol

on its own that isn’t super egregious but they ultimately still bruteforced their way in as a platform during a time the worst you could reasonably expect from a PC game you copped on CD/DVD was annoying DRM shenanigans

the full-fat discrete ff15 experience
November 24, 2025 at 10:17 PM
like it’s either that or the industry toughs out having what became a major part of its marketing directly & indirectly over the past decade ripped out because that shit ain’t coming back otherwise lol
and like. it won’t? that shit’s gonna make the incoming crash worse & the old ways are dead
