Speeding also increased overall because there are no cameras

"The new law would impose a lifetime driving ban for anyone convicted of dangerous driving causing death and introduce new roadside licence suspensions."

Fine for Toronto, with its public transit network, but what about non-urban areas where the transit is poor? Expect more driving while suspended.

Kneel before your automobile gods, you heathen transit users.

Avoid getting "transit experts" from the United States or bus manufacturers.
November 21, 2025 at 2:15 PM
Any suggestions are met with studies from the automobile-oriented USA consultants, not transit-oriented European consultants.

We have automobile disciples at city hall & Queens Park, who put up road blocks, laws, or regulations that prevent improving public transit. IE. King St. transit corridor.

So more people either walk, cycle, or use public transit than use the city hall parking garage.

Curious. How much of Toronto's City Hall's parking garage gets filled up during the week, evenings, on weekends, and during the Christmas buying season?

Such pretty charts. Just needs some ribbons and music.

The Toronto Parking Authority was created in the 1950's as part of the "future is the automobile" of the time. The parking rates tended to be lower than the private lots at the time. Time to dissolve it, since the automobile is no longer "king" of the road. (Except for Doug Ford & Stephen Holyday)
November 14, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Doug Ford is stuck in the 1960's thinking that the automobile is the "future" and we should accommodate for it.

In Europe, they use YIELD TO TRAMS signs. Forboden in Ontario.

The 504 King & 505 Dundas streetcars carry more than 100,000 people per day. It should not take them upwards of 3 minutes to leave the loop.

Toronto politicians should watch this video in its ENTIRETY, or, better yet, take the TTC to city hall each day. x.com/i/status/160...

Are Melbourne’s trams really the slowest in the world?
By Jan Scheurer, August 2024

According to this 2024 report, Toronto's TTC is the slowest...

Roads should be for everyone, not for the exclusive use of the motor vehicle only.
November 4, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Warning. Maybe vetoed by (Mayor) Doug Ford at anytime. He is so stuck in the 20th century. Refuses to read or study latest traffic studies in the 21th century or even in this current decade.
October 17, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Guess the chances of Doug Ford getting the award is the same as him getting the Nobel Peace Prize.

...and REAL priority for streetcars, buses, and light rail. Single-occupant automobile need to yield to public transit.

Judges should judge as long as they do as the Leader says so?
October 3, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Consider using transit specific transit signals, that the rest of the world uses. Québec uses them with their BUSES.
September 29, 2025 at 11:08 PM
It means "YIELD TO TRAMS"... or STREETCARS"... or light rail vehicles.
September 29, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Streetcar loops, caryards, and subway egress should display this sign on unsignalled intersections.
