I don't know much about kotlin, so I looked up `when` and I'd use it for most things, too.
I use `if` in the very specific case of a boolean expression I can't pattern match. A single if/else.

Just a small tractor and it could never be safely towed by a car.

Also, I've never really built furniture. However, built a few cabinets and a lot of outdoor structures and house framing for a living before programming.
Someone who builds furniture might have some tricks up their sleeve for this.

i don't know how coffins are constructed but i'd play with this general idea, adding or removing more support depending on what it's like
