I firmly believe that every school in the country should have 45 minutes of sustain, silent, tech free reading time. This was always good practice, but it’s especially important in the age of phones

I live in a rural area and work with teens and young adults. I’m the only Jew most of them have ever met They are exposed to some really dark ideas about Jews, and I’m just grateful that I’m there to dispel them.

It’s sorta crazy that Michael Fassbender performed in two all time great scenes in two separate and unrelated movies where he speaks German with Nazis in a bar and the Nazis wind up dead.

And, honestly, this is the indictment of her entire career. As a reporter, she has always treated politics as sport or, more accurately, as soap opera. But the people she has covered affect life and death, peace and war, prosperity and ruin. She has never once come to terms with that.

Fully agree. Another issue I have is that when it’s hip to say “you are on native land” everywhere, it detracts from the special status of Indian country - especially among well meaning non natives who don’t know better
