There was a specific page of instructions.
So, install Ubuntu, works like a laptop.
Go to the surface git hub page, copy and paste about 7 commands and done.
You need to install a kernel with the touch drivers.
Didn't understand what I was doing, but the instructions worked.

I knew someone's was being scrapped but they still had it.
On to the phone to the IT guy who said yes, then just organised the wiping when the tech dudes were next in.

See, when i saw this my first thought was Brian Dennehy- pretty much the output of every film and tv studio through the 70s, 80s and into the 90s - he was always somewhere.

But i have been using it since the install on the battery -so 3hrs so far and it reports 69% left.
An old laptop doing 6hrs at a guess, that's doable.
Nice to attach the keyboard for typing as well.
