Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

That Carney plans to facilitate the building of not just one but many financially risky and extremely pricey fossil fuel projects is hard for me to wrap my head around, given what we know about Mark Carney.

So your thesis is:

-a pipeline will be built
-likely w/ public money (or w/ public money backstopping it)
-even though business-case is poor
-& it may never be filled to capacity due to supply and/or demand limitations

-& many more BC LNG projects coming despite poor business case
