Part of the reason is that 17th Ave transitions from a 100-foot median into zero-foot median -- which creates this weird jog in an otherwise straight street...

Not only did this bus stop in Perth, Australia, show me that the bus would be coming in 3 minutes with a digital display --
but when I pushed that big, yellow button, it also told me so...

And yes, the bus showed up 3 minutes later.
