#121 Here Comes The Navy (1934)

James Cagney does his best James Cagney impression and Pat O'Brien does his best Pat O'Brien impression and they instantly fall in love but since its 1934 they pretend they hate each other but come on we all know they would kiss if they could.

My personal guide is whether a proposed merger would get Zaslav out of the entertainment industry. Anything that will do that at least gets a "wait, maybe we should consider this one" reaction from me.
this really creates a weird dynamic

like yes, dems should fight ALL media consolidation, but you'd rather have Netflix own Warner Brothers than a Saudi/Kusher/Ellison coalition dominating what's left of media after the already problematic CBS acquisition
I hope that @warren.senate.gov, the @wgawest.bsky.social, the @wgaeast.bsky.social, and others who have rung alarm bells at the proposed Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros. will treat this hostile takeover bid from Paramount as at least as much of a threat.

"Ketchup: The Documentary" is something I would definitely no joke all sincerity not kidding not sarcastically really mean it would watch.
it may well have originally been derived from a fish sauce, but the exact origins are murky and by the time it enters common English usage it seems to have become its own thing? Seems like there must be more to the story, but unaware of a definitive ketchup history

Apparently rock and rolling all night and partying everyday turns you into this.
Pictured (L-R): Sylvester Stallone, apparently stung by an entire beehive; Paul Stanley, revealing that the KISS makeup was load bearing; and Donald Trump, recently poisoned by the Joker

Having watched a horrible Vikings team for most of the season, its nice to see them sort of beat up on another team.

Not sure how @owillis.bsky.social handles watching this Commanders team every week.

I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.

The more I see of this trophy, the more I am convinced it was conceived and created by someone that absolutely hates Trump.
This is the most horrific trophy I’ve ever seen. It looks like a cursed object found in a desert crypt.

Somebody here (can't remember who) said Republicans run on winning Republican voters, and Democrats run on winning Republican voters, and whoo boy once that was pointed out I see it a lot.
It’s insane that actual Democrats are more interested in running as Republicans than Democrats
Josh Shapiro believes he is uniquely suited to win over Trump voters—but he’ll need to overcome distrust among some in his own party first, Tim Alberta reports: theatln.tc/mR9AHSG4

Seriously. Football. Let's be the prize be a bunch of hands.
I absolutely love that the prize itself is a golden model of a massive flagrant foul.

Our holiday family tradition is to watch a Hallmark Murder Mystery show (preferably starring Alison Sweeney), and see how quickly we can figure out the murderer.

Our record is 2 seconds after the suspect first appeared.
