The nerve block is wearing off so my foot is no longer numb. As my foot returns to life, I’m becoming increasingly aware of unevenness and edges under the sole of my foot, like from the mummy wrap. It’s driving me crazy. Like really crazy.

The nerve block is wearing off so my foot is no longer numb. As my foot returns to life, I’m becoming increasingly aware of unevenness and edges under the sole of my foot, like from the mummy wrap. It’s driving me crazy. Like really crazy.

Hanging in! Mostly staying in bed with foot elevated, taking meds when my phone tells me to, and getting up for the bathroom or to feed myself or the animals.

Like 5 hours after getting here, admitted. CT shows it did unreduce some, but not too bad.
Suffered many indignities in the process of being installed in a bed.
Hooked up to an IV. Unless swelling too severe or bumped by trauma, will be getting pins and plates and stuff in the mid morning.

Elevated leg. Stayed at my brother’s. I’m actually in his childhood bedroom. (He bought the house when my parents downsized and moved downtown.) Looks like he started taking off the wallpaper. I think I would keep it. I kind of like it.
I can’t do crutches. I will need a knee scooter.

Too swollen for surgery today. They are going to reduce my ankle, which from the description seems to a painful attempt to line up the bones again. Then a splint. Then surgery later. I'm in the hallway now. They're looking for a room so no one will hear me screaming when they do this.
