It not feeling "Crash" extends way beyond the visuals. I give 4 so much scrutiny cause its just a bad sequel, it misses the mark on a spiritual level
Again if it was a reboot I wouldnt care. But god dammit its not winning me over with "newstalgia" like it wanted to, things didnt evolve they diverged

My gripes are and always will be that its Crash 4 and doesn't look anything like a Crash Bandicoot 4
If it was a total clean slate reboot like Titans I wouldn't care. I'd be still sad the classic stuff is gone but at least then there's no pretending that its being honoured when its very clearly not

This is ultimately how I keep feeling with new Crash stuff, just "this is cool but you're still not scratching that itch you keep saying you are!!! You're appealing to a completely different audience now!"

I think Beenox did great with the CTR remake gameplay wise, I wouldn't mind having more new tracks from them
The big downside for the game to me was its art direction barely resembling the original games (CNK especially!). Despite that they managed to make N-Sane's direction look really good though

Also also, I think Rumble spoiled the CTR acronym
Could've called it Crash Team Bash to keep the Crash Team name for spinoffs. But now CTR means 2 different things, as a result whats a CTR 2 now to the average person?

That said the actual physical animatronics look great as usual, I just figured they would've learned from literally no one liking the stupid corny red eyes from the first movie. Its so lame looking
