Seymour: let's not make "assumptions" that a serious food safety incident is the responsibility of a company with a record of food safety incidents so bad that officials strongly warned against contracting it. Maybe it was the person who reported it! What a prick. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/christchu...

BREAKING NYT:

The Trump admin just fired eight immigration judges in New York City.

All the judges were dismissed from the immigration offices at 26 Federal Plaza — a building that houses the NYC headquarters of ICE and has become the epicenter of migrant arrests in the city.

Government budgets are NOT like a family struggling with the cost of living.

The reserve bank can print more New Zealand dollars, and taxes on the wealthy can keep domestic inflation under control.

But sure, lets force councils to cut on community services that are already underfunded.

Sometimes an article comes along that slices through the noise, but without needing to bullhorn its way through.

With calm clarity, this may help you navigate the contradictory stances where many who "speak of" X actually *do* Y...

I'm sure it may help many others too, so share it around.

This piece by the EnableMe company on @NZStuff is very wrong:
buying a ‘retirement unit’ does not guarantee continuity of care. In fact, when at their most vulnerable, people are forced to move home - often to other places - and sell at the village’s leisure. www.stuff.co.nz/money/360902...

There is a reason our fundy PM appointed another fundy as the Minister of Health and it is because they share the same beliefs on many issues, including abortion #nzpol
If they can ban access to healthcare like puberty blockers for one group of people, they can do this with any healthcare for their next target. They will ban abortion again given the chance and they will come after contraception after that. The anti-choice movement is our govt right now. #nzpol

more innovation lol. less costs lol. like getting rid of the requirement for treated timber to be used in house framing, that sort of innovation/ cost saving. that went well didn't it. ( actual cost of H1 treatment at the time was $70 a cu/m). your builder would have spent more on biscuits at smoko.
Not content with teeing up a new generation of leaky buildings, the Minister wants to de-fund BRANZ and have more centralised political control over who gets funded to do research on buildings. More public funding on the menu for our private sector donor mates boys!
