I introduce you to the Origami laser we have been using for almost 10 years. Probably more than 30 papers, 2 Nat. Nano. NKT won't fix it. Luckily, we have a master of the cavities here at the Physics Department. Kudos to Nicola Coluccelli. Mode-locked and better mode than before!

Total blackout here... but the beauty of the stars in the sky compensate! I did not see anything like this since Australia. There are many more but the phone camera is not a single photon detector like our eyes! 😉 Photonics post of the evening...

Today two great talks. Luigi Bonacina on in depth and fast Nonlinear imaging with nanoparticles. Then, a huge talk by Andrea Cavalleri on triggering superconductivity in YBCO with light!!! Awesome day.

That's what I would like to do all day but lately find difficult due to the administrative burden. By the way, yet another fake picture. Why do journalists do not accept that if I am aligning a mirror I must not look at the mirror itself but somewhere else where the beam is???
