“In Alberta, employment fell by 14,000 (-0.6%) in August—also the second consecutive monthly decrease. The biggest declines in the month were in manufacturing and in wholesale and retail trade.”
From today's jobs report, Canada's unemployment rate rises to 7.1% (up 0.5 points this year). Alberta has seen a notable increase to 8.4% (the highest since 2017, excl. covid).
