A depressing yet important thread
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

Anecdotal, but in June a pal returned from Glastonbury and Wimbledon, comically sunburned from both. "Ha!" I said, "remember when we were kids, every year it was mudbaths at the main stage and rain-stopped play on centrecourt? That was the *whole* deal with both those things- oh right jesus fuck".

Nora went into a MINUTES-long sneezing fit this morning just before the alarm went off and woke us up, so she won the 'Squeakiest Wheel' award and got to go to the vet. She took her meds like a champ this evening and seems to be doing at least a little better, so I'm feeling way less upset tonight.
