Finally had that big fight with a Trump supporting family member over the holiday? Struggling with how to move forward as a family after they've endorsed inhuman atrocities?
Well, if you're looking for permission, here it is: You can cut them off. You don't owe nazis anything.

TIL until 1913, it was the right of every American to visit the White House on New Years Day to shake the hand of the President.

i like how the one example we have of mass scale homeschooling was the pandemic and it was a complete disaster that burnt out every parent on earth and resulted in half a generation being socially and intellectually stunted forever

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
‘Brazil is not her home.’ Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, brought to US as child, detained by ICE. - The Boston Globe
Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

There’s no demographic more afraid of its own collective shadow than middle-aged white upper middle class from Nassau County. They have no actual idea what they’re so afraid of and can never articulate it, but they must be able to drive to the epicenter of it (NYC) for free at all times.

My grand unified theory of suburbia is that camera doorbells are like SUVs, they provide an illusion of security while making you more paranoid
“Camera doorbells are social cancer as a technology, breaking down social solidarity and further encouraging people to see strangers with suspicion.”
Christmas is coming, and the Black Friday sales signal we’re in peak gift-buying season.

When you’re picking out gifts for friends and family this year, there’s a whole slew of tech products that are better to avoid. I put together a guide to help you through it.

A reminder that cars aren’t a technology problem. They’re a geometry problem.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

if you think secondary market for digital comics is dumb, it's even stupider that @neonichiban.bsky.social puts a ceiling on how much you can sell the "used" pdfs for.

Paladino refinery fantasizes about killing New Yorkers with her car as well. Either we have one set of laws in this city or we don’t. I don’t think she rents a city where everyone else is allowed to plot her death.
Are we gonna act like this is normal? NY City Council Member Vickie Paladino is an unhinged danger to her colleagues. Here she is fantasizing online about shooting people. I’m sure that being a Council Member is hard enough without a violent co-worker. This makes a ULURP hearing seem palatable.
