SFUSD's unrepresented management employees, who got multiple large raises during the last year under Matt Wayne, got an additional $2.3 MILLION in raises this school year. These are the district's highest-paid staff, who already get preferential benefits (including extra retirement funds).

If I were a generationally wealthy person who has never once in my life needed to work for money I would refrain from suggesting public school teachers are greedy and unreasonable when they would like a contract that does not leave them bringing home less money than they do now

My hot Thanksgiving take is that it's actually pretty easy to pull the whole thing off deliciously if you have two ovens and if you don't, it's a lot of timing and planning and likely to turn out mid anyway

I am blocked by John Arnold on every platform because I remind folks he's an ex-Enron trader. In performance reviews of his subordinates he praised them for "using the Enron bat" to beat the markets. He lost Enron an untold amount of money and personally helped sink their last bailout attempt.

So the district is spending another 5 million "modernizing" the fourth floor of the as yet unfinished, over $100 million Mission Bay school, if you're wondering if maybe their claimed budget woes are less fact and more unwillingness to bargain

So a thing Waymo does that human drivers don't is harrass Kindergartners crossing at a marked crosswalk. Like, this happens all the time. Waymos creep up and have to be physically blocked from hitting kids. They can't handle the idea of walking field trips.

If SFUSD is too broke to offer teachers a break-even salary offer then maybe they are also too broke to have added five new senior staff making over 250k annually and receiving special benefits and retirement packages for 🤷♀️
