"Avoiding ecological collapse is too big a responsibility to be outsourced to the invisible hand of the market,” warns our Head of EU @vincianebxl.bsky.social.

We must stop cruelly caging animals in factory farms that poison the soil, pollute the water, & harm communities.

Yesterday, we joined thousands on the streets of Brussels for the #ClimateMarch 💚

Our message was clear: factory farming fuels the very climate chaos that harms communities, kills farmed animals, and threatens the sustainability of our food systems. It's time to #EndIt!

Farm visits are definitely a perk of my job at @ciwf.eu 💚
Together with the @eeb.org, we brought together higher-welfare animal farmers from across Europe, civil society organisations, and EU officials to hear animal welfare success stories that can help policymakers better support the transition to fairer, sustainable farming. 🧵

By delaying the revision of the Animal Welfare package time and time again, @ec.europa.eu is allowing this practice to continue. It’s time to deliver the proposals and ban it not only in photo exhibitions, but in real life.
The European Union allows surgical castration of piglets without anesthesia. Just don’t try showing a photo of it in the European Parliament.
European Parliament flinches at factory farming reality
A piglet getting castrated didn’t make the cut in a photo exhibition at the European Parliament.
