I’ve done this one more-or-less annually since ‘97 and it’s a take-no-prisoners, black metal type of xmas cake. This year, to try to keep things lighter (and because nobody else will eat this), I did a hybrid Mary Berry ‘Victorian’ cake with added \m/ from this recipe.
