I’ve done this one more-or-less annually since ‘97 and it’s a take-no-prisoners, black metal type of xmas cake. This year, to try to keep things lighter (and because nobody else will eat this), I did a hybrid Mary Berry ‘Victorian’ cake with added \m/ from this recipe.

sick-of-my-shit #3385 is a Christmas cake and this year it’s 1] lighter than the Slater I’ve been doing since year dot and 2] probably too late but heck: fruitcake.

the Wayne Thiebaud exhibition is a really good reveal of a painter who had worked in a commercial artist/illustrator environment. Lots of ‘knocked out marker rough’ energy here.

small (but chunky) is the Esher, the smallest of the unloved ‘Surrey’ range. I got them in the ‘80s but haven’t had acces to them for a decade, so it’s nice to have them back for a tinker.
