Reputations take years to build and seconds to destroy.

Most languages do this. I think it’s a cliquey thing to help spot intruders. Place names are a case in point.

When I said “both sides”.

The assertion that I have a point might not stand up to scrutiny.

Little in life is down to one factor. It is much more complex and messy than a simple exchange has the scope to cover.

I believe in dissipating force and it doesn’t tie in well with hard borders 🤷

We agree. No other country either. That is the problem with the idea of responsibility to protect.

Damaged in the psychological sense? Are you saying he’s a victim of trauma?

I was speaking about the West. I am sure that there were some events in the east of Ukraine that it finds uncomfortable.

It followed a political process that coincided with access to the EU’s single market. The fact that this led to the militarisation of Russia only accelerated the process.

I’m fully aware of the process. It doesn’t change the outcome in my view. I also don’t see imperial tendencies as being mutually exclusive.

Both sides are equally responsible for their atrocities and I refuse to argue in favour of violence as a solution.

I noticed NATO and the EU expanding east, the circumvention of trade arrangements, a revolution overturn an elected president.

And that after growing up on films about the Vietnam War, witnessing the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the Arab Spring, the destruction of Libya, etc.

Politics is packed with bullies. It’s what attracts them.

None of this happened in a vacuum and the inability to come to a common understanding is what is prevents peace.

Is that you, chatgpt?

It’s going to eat itself from the inside out.

Too bad you don’t have all that cheap oil and rare minerals anymore. Hardly surprising you’re broke when you can’t invade other countries to steal their resources. Oh wait there’s Venezuela.

You know what to do!

I’m saying that a peaceful solution would be best and that the West is not in a position to preach peace.
