For me, the biggest lesson was how fragile freedom really is. Watching it as someone who grew up in a more accepting time and place, it’s painful to realize how recently love like that was seen as something wrong.

I didn’t know it was based on the director’s own story until after, but I could feel through the scenes that it was real in some way💔 It’s so incredibly sad to see how love had to hide under pressure and fear. All because the world wasn’t ready for it. #LoveIsLove #DirectorPatrickLiu
