This _is_ good news. @europarl.europa.eu deserves a pat on the back here.

The social media giants have skirted/avoided responsibility for too long.

Now, protect our rights and personal data against the snake-oil "AI" industry as well please.
🚨🚨 Welcome news: #socialmedia giants including #Meta and #TikTok will be held liable for financial fraud for the first time under new EU rules agreed by @europarl.europa.eu and @consilium.europa.eu yesterday. www.politico.eu/article/soci...

They want to take away our BBC.

They want to take away our NHS.

They want to take away our human rights.

They want to take away everything we have that makes life worth living.

All for their own greedy enrichment.

The f***ing far right, led by Trump and Farage, Badenoch and the rest.

And Manchán Magan a guiding light who protected what he loved. A greatly missed bee.
Redford. Keaton. Goodall.

We owe it to them and to each other to keep going. To build what they imagined. To protect what they loved. To live as they lived, truthfully, fearlessly, fully.

Dear Reform voters,

These guys are laughing at you.
They promise to make your lives better… but they couldn’t give less of a shit. You’re their playthings. Their route to power. When they’ve got it, they’ll be done with you. And they’ll trash the place.
Get some self-respect.

The rest of the UK.
Nigel Farage (Dulwich), Danny Kruger (Eton), Richard Tice (Uppingham) and Isabel Oakeshott (Gordonstoun) aren't 'standing up to the elite'. They are the elite.

This is how blatantly the #BBC and other news favours Reform.
This is appalling and unbalanced and needs addressing NOW.

Reform, with 0.7% of all MPs, featured in 25% of BBC's recent 10pm news bulletins
Astonishingly, a party with 18 times as many MPs as Reform has received one-third less coverage on BBC News at 10.

Far right protest today:
29 - police officers injured
9 - protestors arrested

Proscribed group protests:
0 - police officers injured
1,600 - protestors arrested

We have Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper to thank for this absurd anomaly

It’s time for a politics, free of vested interests, free of dogma, free of corruption, free of populist easy answers to complicated questions. A politics which puts justice, the individual and the community ahead of narrow self interest. A politics based on evidence, rationality and compassion. Now!

Next time a Tory or Reform politician resigns swiftly after conceding an error they themselves brought to the public’s attention I’ll listen to them braying about Angela Rayner.

Until then, sit down.

😳
The president of the United States just declared war, actual military war, not a metaphorical one, on a major American city, and one governed by his political opponents.

In any other period, this would be impeachment-worthy.

Here is a problem.

The UK has low economic growth, low investment, faltering public services, rising poverty.

Despite failures, govts cling to same policies - privatisation, PFI, wage/benefit cuts, no curbs on profiteering, won't redistribute.

UK is stuck in that loop.

Why do govts not rethink?
How successive government have created a new rentier economy
Governments appease corporations and the super-rich by following the old policies which benefit a few.

Angela Rayner accidentally pays less tax than she should have, resigns, and the media gives her hell.

Nigel Farage deliberately pays less tax than he should have, and the media gives him a free pass.

That, right there, is the problem.
