if you need WebDAV/CalDAV/CardDAV working yesterday in one go it's pretty much your only option, because people are yet to invent a DAV server that doesn't suck. Nextcloud has the advantage of being well-documented, both officially and around the web.

Touché. A lot of people are trying to crack Monero, though I'm not up-to-date on whether anyone did. (I do, however, vaguely remember Monero deploying countermeasures against known attacks, so I would assume Monero's reasonably secure.)

I wouldn't exactly call cryptocurrencies private. But they are somewhat harder to stop from circulating than fiat money.

you can end up in a bad neighborhood without realizing it and then have to move somewhere else

also if something is too far from your neighborhood it might be a pain to visit because of how activitypub federation works
