i lied one more i hated glinda in wonderful. there's so many moments in this movie where we see her as a villain and not a pawn in the whole thing. having her hype up the wizard to convince elphaba felt SO WEIRD. vocally amazing but i don't think it showed her complicity in the way they were hoping

overall, wicked for good was a solid film but it didn’t fix any act 2 problems from the musical in my opinion. it also did a poor job in my opinion of finishing a story about fascism, racism, and class troubles because they marketed it as a girl boss friendship movie through and through 5/5

there were some lyrical changes that made a song feel clunky to me, i think if i hadn’t heard the og and a bunch of other broadway renditions i would like it but i don’t enjoy the changes for that lyrical bit. i’m also torn on the vowel changes there. like maybe healthier but it didn’t feel right 4/

they said more things from the book and honestly? i didn’t really see it. i haven’t read the book in a bit so maybe i’m forgetting but i genuinely thought we’d get more of the actual work she does or something. a mention of avaric does count lmao? 2/

i feel like the pacing issues weren’t fixed and the two new songs didn’t fit stylistically. they are great songs but they didn’t scream wicked to me which sucks. but i genuinely felt like i sat down, blinked, boom fast retelling of wizard of oz which is a musical problem i thought they’d fix 2/
