I'm watching these mergers happen and reliving my college journalism classes from almost 30 years ago where the professors were shouting from the rooftops about how terrible this all was and what a terrible future it offered.
It seems as though Netflix has won the bid for Warner Bros.
Paramount tried, and based on the last couple of years lets not assume anything.
But this is a big deal.

Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).
It requires enabling them access to scrape your data, and has an alarming amount of private data being used for it.
Make sure you have these disabled.

It drives me utterly mad that I keep getting LinkedIn job listings for "narrative" writer - AI. Mercor seems to be the biggest culprit.
THAT IS NOT A WRITER. That is someone who has to come in and fix the AI crap you wanted over a human.

My favorite thing my cat does is in the mornings when I have therapy (at 7 am yes it is hard) is she comes downstairs with me and she doesnt demand cuddles. But she curls up in her little drawer bed and purs her way through my sessions. She's a demanding, spoiled Lil creature but she gets it too.

I can't stress enough that you should take every opportunity that comes your way to support your local public libraries. Many of them are currently struggling and are being DEFUNDED. Local action matters on this front. Don't sit back until those libraries are gone before taking ACTION.

What's happening with the Chicago Public Libraries right now is terrible. The proposed budget of the city would CUT 89 CPL positions. Importantly, 78 positions were lost LAST year. That would be 167 positions in 2 YEARS while COPS KEEP GETTING MORE MONEY. ENOUGH. SAY NO.
