4/5 The figures are accompanied by step-by-step technical instructions and interpretation guidelines, supporting the use of language visualisations for meaningful data-driven insights ✨ 🙌

3/5 The tutorial guides you through 4 visualization techniques, from visualizing individual words to overarching topics to complete sentences 💬

They can be used for both one- and two-dimensional figures, visualizing language in relation to different psychological states 😄😐😞

6/6 We hope that the LEADING guideline will support researchers in conducting, reporting, and evaluating research that aims to achieve best-estimate assessments 🙌

Much gratitude to all inspiring collaborators on this project! 🙏

5/6 In previously published studies, 18 to 58% (Mean = 33%) of the standards were not reported 🚨 which shows the need for the guideline.

4/6 To tackle this gap, we developed the LEADING guideline including 20 reporting standards related to four groups:

1. Longitudinal design ⌛
2. Appropriate data ℹ️
3. Evaluation – experts, materials, and procedures 🧐
4. Validity 🎯

3/6 However, the quality of these assessments is difficult to evaluate due to poor reporting of the assessment methods 📝 😕

Referring to an assessment as a best-estimate (and sometimes even as a gold standard) while vaguely reporting the assessment method is alarming 🚨

2/6 Accurate assessments, such as for depression, are essential but face many challenges.

Similar assessment methods across medicine, psychiatry, and psychology involve experts reviewing several sources of longitudinal information to achieve best-estimate assessments. ✨
