Wargroove battlefield. An enemy barracks is blockaded. The friendlies have an HQ at 5 with an enemy dragon adjacent to it. The enemy HQ has been felled by a friendly army. The enemy has an eerie while the friendlies do not. Each side has taken a village on the other's side. An ugly, close win. War groove post game stats. 19 turns. 23 enemy units destroyed. 8 friendly units lost. The player has ginned up a three to one kill death ratio in order to get a close win.

That's more like it. I call it, "the smotherin' strategy (not racist)."
A game of war groove. The player's army is covering the enemy base, having taken it by occupying the space around unit spawning structures to prevent units from spawning. Reinforcements continue to arrive, some ferried by a cargo balloon. The enemy commander has been killed after being hemmed in by basic ground units and executed by harpies.

Wargroove on hard is challenging. What's not pictured is an enemy tree colossus beating my HQ down to 4 as I desperately pivot to killing the enemy commander.

Player units on the enemy bank are a commander and a few ground troops, most an average of 6 health. Enemy units on the player's side of the battlefield are specialty units with an average of 10 health. The player has won because the enemy commander got trapped on a bridge between two player units. This battle is a mess and a lucky win.

7 years and 850 hours later, I can't believe I just got a new achievement in HBS' #BattleTech
an achievement called "You Can't Kill Me." the description is that it's for having a 'mech and its pilot survive being shut down, receiving a headshot, and falling down, which I did by charging a Marauder PPC first into an enemy assault lance and trying to alpha strike my way out

I love BattleTech because it's not well designed. 1st turn shooting and my dumb 'mech with a silly autocannon deletes an enemy. It was an Axeman with a slightly less silly autocannon, but still...
