Presumably no-one in your family made their own Xmas pudding! It's an old tradition but to be honest I think homemade puddings are better when made earlier (eg September).

even before personal preference and optimal conditions for concentration the assumptions here are endless... that no-one lives in poky / shared accomodation or has a chaotic/ difficult home life, and that everyone can afford to heat their home all day...
