That petition drive for a non-binding referendum for Alberta to STAY in Canada is now verified.
One in 7 Alberta voters signed it.
Wow, did Lukaszuk's bid worked. Lessee how Danielle Smith gov handles it.

There is at least one massive inconsistency in the MOU.
On the one hand it speaks of "private sector constructed & financed pipelines" & on the other "AB commits to:
act as proponent for advancing the development of a bitumen pipeline".
Which is it? AB taxpayers want to know

The UCP’s fall legislative session reveals volumes about what the party really values and what it doesn’t: no rights for teachers and trans folks (Bills 2 and 9) no rights for those who depend on AIMCo investments (Bill 12) but hey, we’ll pay out to aussie coal companies any time. #ableg #abpoli

Wake up Alberta rural municipalities.
Better a wind or solar farm as a going concern rather than dead-beat oil and gas operators that won't pay their taxes or surface lease payments.

💰 Rural Alberta earned $70M in tax revenue from wind & solar in 2025 — funding roads, emergency services & recreation.

But a provincial moratorium has stalled future growth, costing municipalities $84M/year in lost revenue.

“A government does not reach for the notwithstanding clause four times in a month unless something is deeply wrong. This isn’t normal. It isn’t safe. And it isn’t democracy. Each time rights are pushed aside, a warning siren is blaring: Power is being placed above people.”

With the preemptive use of S. 33, Bill 9 attempts to shield 3 statutes that form a fundamental intrusion into the relationships between trans kids and their parents, doctors/medical professionals, teachers/schools, and sport communities.

We stand to assert our forceful, sustaining opposition.

The UCP has abandoned conservatism. Not just Lougheed's brand. Klein's brand, too.

The party lost its grip years ago.

It's time for conservatives in this province to speak up about it.

Bill 9 is a trans rights issue.

Don't be fooled, because it's also a parental rights and bodily autonomy issue.

The UCP has no place in the living rooms and physicians offices of this province.

I had supported Guthrie to a degree up to now.

That's over. He's just less corrupt UCP. But anti-rights.
Supported by all UCP members present (36) and independents Pete Guthrie and Scott Sinclair.

Opposed by 35 NDP MLAs.
