BYU, Books, LDS, etc. I post articles of interest.

And if they perish it will be… because of the wilfulness of their hearts, seeking for blood and revenge.

Maybe this PE idea for Utah is a good investment for their future. We’ll see how it works out. At the same time it’s the UofU saying they can’t do what many see as their job of managing and growing an athletic department completely right now.

Speaking of the Otro Capital University of Utah Utes, isn’t their coach supposed to be retiring soon?

Hey, speaking of ... I didn't think it would be *UTAH* first inviting the vampire into the house, but I guess there are still surprises in the world...

Interesting but I don’t think private equity is good for companies and consumers. Utah trying to keep up with BYU and others I guess. I’d hate this for my school but maybe it helps them financially in the short term. Article was a press release.

The new venture would generate a massive amount of money for the school in a groundbreaking move that may pave the way for more schools and conferences to do the same.

As @johngasaway.bsky.social first uncovered years ago, every men's NCAAT champion since 2004 has been ranked in the top 12 of the Week 6 AP poll. So here's your cheat sheet. One of these teams will cut down the nets in Indy on April 6, 2026. Who ya got?

Maybe BYU should be Americas CFB team and not ND?
December 8, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Let’s say BYU beats GT convincingly, Miami, Bama or OU loses. For final AP does ND get dropped for skipping a bowl? Does BYU finish 9th or 10th? Vandy and Texas jump BYU?

The Mustangs last played in the Holiday Bowl in 1980 against BYU, losing 46-45. SMU has reached a bowl game or the College Football Playoff for seven consecutive seasons.

What do you think of the matchup?
SMU to face Arizona in the Holiday Bowl
The Mustangs will get another chance to face a Big 12 team after falling to Baylor and TCU earlier this season.

The committee moved BYU down for a championship game blowout loss, setting up the ND-Miami comparison.

The committee also did NOT move Alabama down for a championship game blowout loss.

Dropping BYU for yesterday but not Alabama is such a perfect chef's kiss on top of all of this. Honestly disgraceful, makes FSU's omission in 2023 look like a picnic

3rd place in a P4 conference last year, Alamo Bowl and finished #13, 2nd place this year, Alamo or Pop Tarts. Good recruiting class, kept our coach. BYU is still on the rise and has an easier schedule next year. But things will run through T Tech in the future and BYU hasn’t fully arrived.

If BYU can hold TTech to 3 or less this drive I’ll consider the 1st half a success.
