I have nothing good to say about season 7 /hj but I feel like my livetweeting deserves some kind of sendoff. I have a thousand things I personally don't like about Buffy and an equal number of genuine criticisms I feel the show merits but I also have a thousand other things about it that I love.

And that's a wrap. Spike is fucking dead, Sunnydale is as well, and we no longer have just one slayer--there are instead thousands upon thousands. Anya also died for no conceivable reason. Willow was super epic as usual. Good for her. God. What a time.

Sorry I got distracted by haterisms but that scene where Dawn didn't even finish reading the letter from Buffy, just tased Xander and turned the car around to go back home and help, was so hype. My sisters... do not separate them... they fight at each others' sides..... peace and love.

I hate to use Ethan as an example because I don't like him (joke. I actually do. he's funny) but why not introduce him first as a priest who more and more people have been going to for guidance because of the insane shit happening around town? And THEN we get the "oh no he's working for the first."

He could've been so much more interesting if they introduced him a lot earlier and connected him to the characters before everything went to hell. He was introduced in episode eighteen. EIGHTEEN. THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR DEVELOPMENT. Why the hell even add him at that point.

The show's writing at this stage feels like they went and fired everyone who was working on the writing before, replaced them with an entirely new group of people, and told them to go at it based on bios they'd written for all of the characters.
Which is to say it's really missing something.

On a lighter note: sprusilla sweep. Pondering spike standing there limply after killing his mother, and drusilla comes along and tells him not to worry his poor little head over it. everyone dies... even vampires. everyone you love dies. but they're different, aren't they? yes... they're different.

--in her power to keep him safe and let him know that he was loved. I just don't think it's fair to say that because you have one main priority in life, that limits your ability to devote yourself to other things. Of course it does in a lot of cases but. Gestures vaguely. Rubs me the wrong way here.

First of all since when is there such a thing as giving up the slayer life. There's always the understanding that it's something you do until you die. Why does the show not consider it possible that she knew she had to put being a slayer first, but she still loved Wood and wanted to do everything--

Why did we turn Wood's big scene into one about Spike. This ain't about him. It's about both of them technically but dude.
I also deeply resent the idea that Nikki didn't love her son or loved him less because she didn't give up being a slayer for him. How the hell would that even work.

And it just makes you so unspeakably angry that he gets to act like a good person now and fight alongside the new slayer. You don't have anything against that new slayer but she just doesn't get it. She's defending a monster. He doesn't seem like a monster anymore, though.

And then you find the guy. And he's walking around wearing the coat he took off your mother's dead body. You can't remember her ever wearing it because you barely remember *her*, but there's a picture of her with it that her watcher showed you once.

That episode (first date) was so weird but oh my god principal wood the goat. I think he should have free reign to kill spike. Can you imagine growing up with the knowledge that you don't have a mother because of one vampire out there, but you don't know which one, so you just make it your mission--

That scene with Xander and Dawn was genuinely so hype. Peace and love for my key and my. I don't know how to describe Xander in one word but he's also a valued member of the team and he and Dawn are so sweet. Dawn collecting older brothers like pokemon cards
