Shouldn't senior officers be offering some guidance on the legality question? Seems to me they shouldn't just be sweeping it under the carpet and leaving up to individual soldiers, sailors, airmen, or Marines to decide for themselves on an order of questionable legality.

By the way, today Trump said that land strikes in Venezuela will begin very soon. Anyone have any thoughts on the legality of that? Is it a war? A police action? A drug enforcement operation? A law enforcement operation?

Yes, Tom is right, but it isn't going to happen . . . not while Mike Johnson is Speaker of the House. In my view, it's very unlikely with ANY Republican Speaker. This means there's little chance if it before Jan 2027. We've seen what Trump has done in last 10 months. Imagine 14 more months of him.

Trump just said land strikes would start in Venezuela very soon. Top military leaders should address the legality of an order like this. They can't just sweep it under the carpet and leave it for individual sailors, soldiers, airmen, and Marines to decide the legality of this.

Yep, maybe the civilians on small boats that were blasting to smithreens by F-18s. Surely that had to be ordered by the SecDef. Was this a lawful order? I think senior officers need to address this question and not just leave it up the individual soldier, sailor, airmen, or Marine.

2/You said that we must get rid of Trump. I'm suggesting that will not happen as long as the Speaker of the House sees his role as defender of Trump and doing his bidding. In other words, no vote on anything that Piggy does not want a vote on. Obviously that would include a Bill of Impeachment.
