It was a few years in the making, but my Honours thesis (with some amendments) has now been published (early view) in the European Journal of Social Psychology!

But, because I did not offer immediate and wholesale agreement with his thesis - because I did not immediately and unceasingly agree with his point - I am the example of the Left's lack of care for the humanity of Israelis.

But, because I brought up Israel's dehumanisation of Palestinians, I was accused of "making this a political issue" by "bringing up anti Israel views and defending against anti semitism".

Apparently, I provided an example of how leftists "have no space for Israeli humanity".

I have not seen many leftists dehumanising the Israeli civilians who died or were taken hostage (and said as much). I also indicated that the loudest voices that I had seen pushing for peace and an end to Israeli apartheid were Jewish voices.

As a sad addendum to this thread:

Someone came into my messages to somewhat prove my point. They begin by smearing the entirety of leftists as not caring for the humanity of Israelis and being unmoved by the events of October 7th.

Without that - without us - they cannot sustain their hatred, their anger, their disgust - their entire sense of self.

And I am remind of the James Baldwin quote about why people cling to hate because, once it is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.
