let's chill...in the comments or among the wildflowers
I think this is the ending of that "If a tree falls in the forest" thing.

So true.

Chose to post it anyway. And I'd do it again.

As I'm posting the above, I realize that the edible that "didn't work" may have worked a little.

In my house we refer to anything but comfortable pants as "government pants". And we try to wear government pants as little as possible.

This nerd lore is too deep for me to follow so I'm just gonna say "heh heh worm tongue!"

Don't worry, Ryan Painter is somewhere trying to convince him to unresign.

They're at Rustad's Christmas concert.

If they're comfortable why not have them look a little dressy?! Nothing like being slightly overdressed while feeling like you're wearing pajamas.

I am simply begging the universe for ONE more plot twist.

Eliminating diseases is cool and great. But when you say "eliminating disability" you're talking about eradicating entire groups of people. The Deaf community is a great example. You see a disability, but it's a whole-ass culture.

I think "sliding into eugenics" is putting it mildly. It is eugenics.
December 4, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Sure, and that's very kind of them but those resources shouldn't be necessary is the point. Why have people volunteering their time to help with something that could be automated?

Feel free to self-educate. There's no reason to defend the way taxes are done in Canada unless you happen to be personally invested in the industry. www.taxfairness.ca/en/resources...
How the tax industry is keeping automatic filing out of reach

I'm pretty sure it's a well-known fact that the main reason taxes aren't autofiled are because of industry lobbying so I have no idea why you're approaching this like the reason is that low-income folks have simple taxes and high income folks have complex taxes.
December 4, 2025 at 4:25 PM
I can and do? I'm confused why you think I'm just like...concerned about how to do my taxes? For many years, I simply didn't file and had to get all caught up which was challenging and stressful. Lots of people struggle to do their taxes and there's no reason it needs to be done this way.
December 4, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Yeah, I think you misunderstood that I was saying I don't know how to do my taxes. Very much not my point.
December 4, 2025 at 4:21 PM
I'm not low income and I do not have complicated returns. If people have complicated taxes that's definitely what CPA's are for but I genuinely feel most people's taxes could be autofiled at least to start. There are places that do it.
December 4, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Yet they're only doing it for low-income folks and not everyone to keep H&R Block happy. It's a start but it needs to go further and there's no reason this industry needs to exist.

Whoa we just cross posted the same emoji to each other.
