Plugging in the guitar tonight, I hit some random strings in random ways, and one second later, out of nowhere, I'm playing the opening riff to Day Tripper. Not even one of my favorite songs, and I haven't heard it for months, but damn, it's fun when music strikes like that.

Made my first ever blancmange. A raspberry one, so really, perhaps it should be framboisemange. Delicious. Very tart. Brilliant pink. Lovely texture. Quite possibly the gayest dessert I have ever eaten, for many reasons. I look forward to making and eating this again.

Sometimes I want to keep at intermittent fasting because it definitely helps my health. And sometimes looking at the state of everything, I just want to say fuck all, go on pioglitazone for my liver, and balloon up. I mean, I do fit the criteria for it.

Fall in Palm Springs must be on its way. Today I plucked a tiny lemon off a neighbor's tree (there were MANY more on the ground) and just pureed it into a delicious vanilla lemonade. Just like I did starting last November. (But also with oranges and tangerines.) It's the little things.

Big dinner last night at Damon's (in Glendale, LA area). Mai tai. Huge loaded twice baked potato. Garlic bread. Salad. And carrot cake for dessert. I'm still feeling it...feeling huge today. A weekend of having big breakfasts and dinners is definitely having an effect on me. Oof.

Dinner tonight is the most bastardized version of kasha varnishkes ever. No bowtie pasta—I used the penne on hand. Added dill and sour cream just because. The most goyish, heathen part: bacon. And all the bacon grease. It's quite good and a new experiment.

Cold brew puerh tea, fresh squeezed orange juice, half a lime, electrolytes, simple syrup, liquid whey. Puree and strain. So damn good.
