I'm hard-pressed to think of a non-Jewish Democratic politician who has spoken to Jews with more respect and empathy than Mamdani. The fact that many Jewish establishment orgs are going after him while staying relatively mum on resurgent Nazism is a disaster, both for American Jews and in general.

This is totally winnable for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social - late ballots will tend to break her way.
In first night vote count, Harrell has 53.32% to Wilson's 46.18%. #waelex

Hey guys! I just wrote up a Needling piece for when the Mariners get eliminated so that they don't get eliminated. You're welcome!

if we add bus lanes to Denny Way I guarantee the number of bikers will be significant as well. I already see bikes and scooters taking the sidewalk on the bridge over I-5, imagine how many more could use the route with bus lanes!
Although we disagree with the conclusions from SDOT's traffic study, its traffic counts were very eye-opening:
• Over 3 times as many people use Denny Way to access areas east of I-5 than to access I-5 S
• Of the people continuing east, 35% do so in a car, 34% in a Route 8 bus, and 31% on foot

Same, I no longer support @wabikes.bsky.social because they don't support the true non-car advocate, @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social.
But seriously @t4wa.bsky.social and @wabikes.bsky.social, your endorsement of this is why @transpochoices.bsky.social and @cascade.org will not be getting the usual donations from me. I won't support organizations whose leadership supports a mayor like Bruce Harrell.
Bold for @mayorofseattle.bsky.social Bruce Harrell to say, through a spokesperson, that safety is not actually the top priority if there are people who still want to drive fast. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that his own home overlooks this street.

Spot on as usual.
This is so incredibly condescending from the Seattle Times. Do you also ask male candidates if they'd considered running for an "easier" office?

Fabulous news!
SDOT removed the old crosswalk stripings on the burke near Leary that had been layered so many times a lot of riders would leave the crosswalk to avoid the jarring bumps they created. Thanks #SDOT! #SeaBikes

Honestly, this Catholic WA legislator only has one thing to say: Come at me, bro.
A new Washington State law requires clergy to break the secrecy of the confessional when child abuse or neglect has been revealed and report it to the authorities. The Justice Department announced an investigation into the law, which it called “anti-Catholic.” nyti.ms/3GKtgZA

0. Vought, Vance, Rufo, and those attacking academia see scientists as bureaucrats—in the most pejorative sense of the term—who they can "put into trauma" and drive to quit.

They don't understand that science is not just a job. It's a vocation, literally, in the original sense of *a calling*.

This is funny. And the serious problem with the NYT is it misinforms about reality. Not with inaccuracy so much as emphasis, perspective, and framing. That makes it a bad news source. Go to the Guardian, or Wired, or others/ independent sources. You don't need the NYT or LA Times, or WaPo.
