Old Millennial, nothing special, just someone who believes actual provable decency, honor, and selflessness is a bare minimum for leadership. Oh, and I can & will absolutely ruin you with just words. If you try to bring the smoke, be ready for the fire.
My usual go-to point about "AI" systems being largely garage is simple.

If they were so great, they wouldn't be shoved at you for free.

Free use of "AI" systems has nothing to do with benefiting humanity.

Clean water is the single greatest thing that benefits all humanity, and even it isn't free.

Twenty years ago, you couldn't have convinced me that not only would we find someone more evil than Dick Cheney, and someone dumber than Dubya, but that they would also be the same person.

You could however have easily convinced me that Americans would vote for them nonetheless.

About 20% of Americans are basically illiterate, around 50% only read at a 6th grade level.

Also, around 50% cannot functionally comprehend complex issues or draw conclusions from multiple separate facts.

That means half of America has no idea, or ability to understand what all of the above means.

Reminder, the hypocrisy is entirely the point.

I'm NOT saying that pointing it out is useless, because we should remember/document every single instance, but do so realizing that the hypocrite is overjoyed at you noticing them getting away with it, and that (y)our reaction is what they call a win.

I guess not many people know this, but you can use exclusionary terms in most search engines.

(Without quotation marks)

"-ai" removes the default LLM summary.

"-Amazon" removes the forced "BUY THIS!!" Result on nearly every search.

This can be used to ignore the stuff you don't want to see.

I sometimes wonder if people saying things like "wake up", or "open your eyes", or "act now" really mean to ask for us all to do something very specific, yet are not able to say what they mean without being banned?

Unrelated: Insurrection prior to 2026 elections would be exactly what the RW wants.

Disney site is literally not sending the necessary emails with the code to delete your MyDisney account.

To be fair I was able to cancel my subscription just fine, but five attempts (and counting) to get the confirmation code to delete my account have not been received.

Are they truly that petty?

It should be super embarrassing for the entire supreme court, Congress, and "legacy" media to realize that all they had to do was show a tiny piece of backbone to trump.

Sadly they're all spineless cowards, so they had no courage to offer up.

All Illinois did was basically say "no", and it worked.

For anyone worried about big brother and self censoring here, ease your nerves.

The discourse here is like a drop in a bucket compared to the raging tempest of every other social media site.

Just one video on TikTok has more "dangerous" comments than this entire site has had over the past 24hrs.

Not really feeling anything at all about a recent event.

I refuse to feel guilt or remorse for someone who gleefully cheered every time the circumstances were reversed.

Check back after the 105,274th time thoughts and prayers are the only thing offered for a solvable problem and maybe I'll repent.

If some news organization posting something that makes you angry is owned by a billionaire, I'm ignoring it. I will not read it.

I do not care what billionaires want me to feel right now.

What I care about is shattering their wealth so they are forced to sell their ownership of that "news" outlet.

Traitors hate this one trick.

Embody the values you hold dear and boldly call yourself a patriot whenever you do.

Be better & call it patriotism. Be bold.

Maybe wear a Tshirt that says things you believe in. Or a Gadsden snake breathing flame on a block of ice.

Start small & build up from there.

If somehow an active Democratic politician sees this, the plea to "do something" can be very simple things like attempting to redistrict, to our favor, even if the attempt is doomed to fail.

Make the Republicans stop you, make THEM have to be on the defensive.

Call it "Temporary, but necessary".
August 22, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Every Dem that stands up for democracy isn't a contender for 2028 yet, and trying to draw hard lines now is insane considering how hard the fight for the ability to cast a meaningful vote is going to get during the next year or so.

Really not up for anything beyond "they're fighting & I like that".

Honestly, even if Texas immediately implemented fair maps for all, I would still want CA + every blue state to redistrict Republicans out of having any seats.

Gloves are off.

No more playing, make things so unfair that Republicans have to be the ones to implement a national ban on gerrymandering.

The most important lesson I learned in economics long ago is the idea that any country's national debt is money owed to it's own citizens.

That debt was taken on ostensibly for the needs of that nation. I.E. the citizens.

The only question then, is what did that debt do for YOU. What is your ROI?

I suspect that a significant portion of people who get their news from "non-traditional" sources is simply because they don't come with a paywall to get info, just a pitch to "like and subscribe".

To reverse this trend, it starts with giving news first, instead of hiding it behind a subscription.

BTW Dems, I will literally ignore every single maga complaint they ever make until the day I die.

You no longer need to do anything based on avoiding smears from the right.

They are liars and completely pointless to listen to. And I suspect every voter who cares about truth no longer cares either.

Every time I see some post about how "the two party system is so bad blah blah lesser evil is still evil" I tune it out and move on.

Give me a clear-cut comparison between a country currently using a multi-party system who has solved the problems often ascribed to two-party systems and I'll listen.

Honestly, what we need is for regular people who are determined to break things to start signing up to be ICE agents.

Promptly start the job by skipping work & clicking every spam email attachment & sharing any data you can get your hands on.

Take their signing money and use it to gum things up.

Just took a moment to remember the shape of the wound in the backs of Americans from Manchin & Sinema from the filibuster flight.

Has anyone asked those craven a-holes "was it worth it?" Do they even know how much blame they hold?

I hope they feel immense shame & guilt for their part in all this.
August 7, 2025 at 8:46 PM
For anyone wondering what Dems could do (with the power of a solid majority), other than NOT doing *gestures broadly*, here's a list.

Medicare for all.

Worker protections.

Accountability for masked federal goons.

The Epstein files.

Ending Citizens United.

Judicial appointments.

And more.

IDGAF who you won't vote for in a mythical future election lineup (considering how tentative it is that we will be able to vote at all).

Tell me who you plan to canvas for, tell me who you do support and why. Convince me.

But if all you have is whinging about who you can't vote for, kick rocks.
