The first opalized flower! This is a single flower stem encased in layers upon layers of silica nano particles that hardened to form precious opal! Much like a radiant opal tomb 🤣. Much more to come.

Don’t tell me not to opalize a dead moth. I will opalize a dead moth.

STOP WHAT YOU’RE FUCKING DOING! Look at this full spectrum opal I grew!!!! The camera can’t really handle the reds. ITS SO VIBRANT HOLY SHIT!
February 11, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Check out this opal I grew! It appears completely white but displays the entire visible spectrum as it’s rotated around a light source. White light enters the structure and is split into individual wavelengths.

Yeah worn out over the world’s worst people blaming autism.

An opalized flower is such a niche fucking thing. Like there’s a part of my brain that’s saying “what if no one gets it”. Like I’ve spent so many years obsessing over opal and opalized objects so what if I’m a bit too biased!? lol

As of today my art and business has generated over 80,000 sales. I had no handout, jumpstart or access to resources. Black and brown artists please hear me out, are allowed to take up space and despite what we’re shown there is plenty to take up.

This is the Crassula “thrashula” the very first hybrid I made! It’s very cute and smells like maple syrup in the fall.

New Tyler Thrasher DLC just dropped. Just whipped up blue opal in my studio/ lab. I’ve always wondered if I could impregnate my synthetic opal with a pigment and the answer is “sort of”. I think I went a little heavy handed on it. I’ll have to dial back the amount of pigment next time.

February 4, 2025 at 7:55 PM
When I was a kid I never expected that my full time job would be crystallizing insects. And when I started doing that I never expected my business to sell glowing flowers. And when I did that I never expected to make the world’s first opalized specimens. Keep goin yall.

My gut microbiome needs some DEI.

Made some changes to my opal recipe today and they all FLOPS, which from a science standpoint is very exciting. ANY and ALL data we can collect from an experiment is a success. Even the data that seemingly disappoints.
