Not gonna say what was gonna happen (although you could probably guess what it was if you've seen the movie), but the original ending was going to tie into part 2.

However, I still wish the cast and crew of Gone Viral well as a lot of them are genuinely talented people who deserve to have their careers skyrocket in a good way.

Also worth mentioning is that they silently scrapped a previously-announced Gone Viral sequel despite promising it for a 2026 release. I was not made aware of this as a production assistant (despite being promised I would be brought on again for it) and am disappointed by this news.

Unfortunately, this was a long time coming as they put me in a shitty position several times as someone who opposes AI but was someone who not only helped creatively, but propped the movie up whenever possible.
