You can think of digimon with armor purge as, well, armor. When one would be deleted, you can just trash the top card of its stack (the card with armor purge) instead. Naturally, this won't work if the digimon doesn't have any digivolution cards.

Decoy!
A Digimon with Decoy will specify what it is a decoy for. Machmon here is a decoy for black digimon. When a digimon matching the decoy's conditions would be deleted by an effect (not battle), you may delete the decoy instead.

The deck's strategy is to stack up a bunch of Searchers (being one of the rare few cards that can run more than 4 copies) to hit the board and annihilate your opponent's security. Reaper, indeed.

If you like building high level digimon and using digi-eggs, Analog Youth can help you make sure you're always hatching and searching. I use him for an adaptation of a play group member's deck that I play.

I really like Kimeramon. It rewards you for mashing a bunch of different digimon beneath it. I feel like it emphasizes my favorite part of the game, building a strong custom digimon. (I also like all the colors, of course)

Mind-Link lets you put a tamer beneath a relevant digimon to give the inherited effects of the tamer to it (Jamming and Blocker here). It's mostly for the SoC and Digi-Police...

De-Digivolve removes a number of cards from the top of a digimon equal to its number (but it stops if it hits a level 3).

It's not very common, but if a digimon matching decoy's condition (just black in this case) would be deleted, the decoy can be deleted instead. Another resource cost for protection.

Reboot lets your digimon unsuspend on your -opponent's- unsuspend phase, keeping it safe from attack or getting it ready to block even if it attacked on your turn.
I really, really like reboot, I think it's super handy.

When your opponent attacks and it hits the block phase, you can suspend a blocker to force the target to switch to the blocker in question.

My favorite is Ouryumon. I built a whole deck around it so I could take advantage of its effect protection against a member of the play group's Mastemon deck.
They built it with heavy removal, so it was nice to say "nah".

Dracmon here can recycle something either cheap or expensive for you to use again.
There's also cards an effects that care in other ways, discounts, refunds, etc.

If a digimon with scapegoat would die, you can delete another of your digimon instead, which will naturally help your trash play later.

Sometimes, you're just not going to be as robust as the other colors, too small to swing into their digimon (or make blocking really rewarding). This is where retaliation comes in handy.
If your digimon dies in battle, it takes the enemy one with it. Useful!

And Ogudomon is my favorite purple card. It's the reward for successfully opening the gate of deadly sins, essentially wiping out your opponent in one turn (or getting them damn close).

Similar to Barrier, it protects your digimon. However, it doesn't prevent deletion, it re-plays the digimon. And instead of dinging your security, it effectively wipes the digivolution cards away.
This means you get any on play effects again, btw.

Digi-Burst lets you trash the relevant number of digivolution cards (you choose which) to get whatever the described effect is. Rafflesimon buffs your board (and stops a digimon, but that's a different effect)

Argomon here really likes it. When you digivolve into something with digisorption, you suspend a buddy and get a discount. Easy! (A little too easy sometimes)
So, you can build a boss a little quick with green thanks to this and your other options for digivolving.

Helping this is Alliance. Alliance is a little everywhere, but it's a touch more common in green. When a digimon with alliance attacks, you can suspend another of your digimon (1) to add its DP and get security attack

Anyway, this motherfucker is my favorite green card. As you can see, suspension is the name of the game for Quartzmon, essentially locking down your opponent's board so you can swing with impunity. It's the star of my "Get Over It" deck...

As you saw with Shoeshoemon as well, yellow is adept at hamstringing your opponent's digimon by lowering their DP. This can swing battles in your favor, discourage attacks, create vulnerability, and even outright delete the target if you get enough.

Another common yellow keyword is Barrier. This, if the digimon in question would be deleted in a battle, allows you to trash your top security card to keep it safe.
In Mistymon's case, this is another instance of yellow offense...

Renamon With The Hips's inherited effect lets you give an opponent's digimon Security Attack -1 when you use an option.

One of the simplest ways it does is with Recovery. Recovery (as "deck" implies) pulls a card from the deck and puts it on the stack. Easy.
