minecraft mods are pretty damn fragmented by now but they thrive off custom launchers offering a one click button to install a 100 mods that are guaranteed to be compatible with each other and that they come with all the needed dependencies and like.

everyone else nailed it already. i want to add: the butterfly effect from the death of forums & no youtubers to help funnel people to one place since it is bannable. also modpacks arent really a thing which makes it less casual friendly in general, so ppl end up in smaller groups across the board

the shader looks SO good. also yeah i know what you mean abt the tattoos 🤔 if mod downloads offer a photoshop file/transparent images, i found messing with the blending options -> blend mode can help textures sort of,, fade into the skin more naturally? i do this w scars n freckles mostly
