i like to ride my bike
Got word from a SD traffic engineer that a light & ped crossing at El Cajon & Mississippi is funded and under design. Hopefully that means less people choosing between playing frogger or going several blocks out of their way to cross

According to San Diego nimbys, seventeen lanes of freeway isn't a blight, but a midrise apartment building right next to it is

So come 2026 we'll hopefully get the critical Fenton Pkwy connection to the trolley, stadium and Mission Valley (pink). I wonder if a new trail could be paved on the existing utility easement (blue)? It would be a much more pleasant way to Normal Heights than riding along the 15 freeway

I hope SANDAG is planning for a transit connection to CBX. 8,000 passengers a day use it to fly out of Tijuana International Airport and there's currently no good way to get there without a car

It likely wouldn't be allowed there. This development hinges on the parcel being just outside of the coastal zone and not subject to the whims of the coastal commission

Anyone know what's going on with the Normal Street Promenade project? Last I heard it was slated to start construction this month

The thing is, our street environment is built to be destructible on purpose as a "safety" measure. Curbs are slightly sloped to be mountable and signposts have holes in them to break away easily when hit.

Even our sidewalks are designed as buffer zones for distracted drivers.

15 years ago as a high schooler I wrote my city councilman Kevin Faulconer about this very intersection. He never responded and literally nothing has changed since then

Since trans women are forced to use the men's rooms at the Capitol now who's ready for another wave of Republican politicians caught with a "wide stance"...

The same group fighting the "pencil tower" in Pacific Beach is also fighting this, a five-story fully-affordable housing project. So when you hear neighbors complain about new developments due to lack of 'affordability,' think about where their motivations truly lie

Imagine the potential of a new line from downtown to SDSU via Washington St and El Cajon Blvd to cover this network gap. Could put it on viaducts or cut & cover for much cheaper than tunneling. SANDAG please steal this idea!
