Something about the shooting yesterday doesn't feel right.
It feels too convenient. A vetted Afgan national that was granted asylum, randomly shoots a National Guardsman near the WH for no reason right when the NG was set to leave DC because there was no violence.

To be clear, if someone in the US Navy in WWII had (for example) ordered the survivors of a stricken U-Boat to be killed in the water even though self-evidently they were hors de combat, this would have resulted in a court martial.

In consolidated authoritarianism terms, we're doing pretty well, as the regime is haphazard, meeting resistance, and growing increasingly unpopular.

It is good to see the pushback on Trump lead to real losses for him. But it's hard to be optimistic when he still wields the enormous power of the presidency. ICE is still rampaging, HHS is harming people, the U.S. may be about to sell out Ukraine, the boat strikes...he's still doing so much damage.

Two issues with this,
1. I don't believe any of the polls.
2. If you don't purge the current democrats a select only candidates fully commited to get the money out of politics/the judiciary/media ownership, nothing will change and your empire is gone.
