Yeah that happened to me last tire change. They called and were like "You're on the borderline of should and must change them" and I'm like "Ugh."

I knew it was coming in my case, just sucks to have it sprung on you. Hopefully they weren't trying to grift you.

and this is all because the IFPA leadership ignored their own policies on inclusivity and decided "We made a bad call but we must be consistent" is more important than cancelling tainted stats on an event where an entire bloc of people had to leave due to bigotry.

This was avoidable.

I think the scary thing, if you're the IFPA, is you don't know WHAT the full damage is yet. We're in the middle of a runup to a major, so a lot of venues don't want to desanction themselves.

Once the major season ends, if the IFPA hasn't corrected course, we may see bedlam.

It's a standard moderator tactic when you've Made Your Decision and just want the peace back. Shut up the dissent but reassert you were right while they can't argue.

I said it last rant but I'll say it again: I focus so much on "This makes no sense for anyone" because it DOESN'T. The easy solution was the conscious one, and IFPA did extra work to make this awful situation where no one is happy AND they're bigots.

Just say you screwed up.

and this is before you get into the many folks I know who are majorly hurt by this, mistrustful of IFPA, and some may be quitting pinball entirely over it.

Gods below just saying "We made the bad call in the moment and now we have to fix it" would have been so much easier than "Once we made a call we cannot change it or we're inconsistent and here's a bunch of proof we meant well"
