June reading wrap! Your Blood, My Bones was so good, highly recommend. Lots of audiobooks this month because I was busy, but I have adhd and many more hobbies than reading, so two birds, one stone and all that.

I hope #storygraph continues to work on their app, it's glitchy 😫

I liked this, but I am very tired of insta love. Its "enemies who hate what each other represent and need to kill or manipulate each other to a week later forgetting that and being in love to enemies" Where is the build up?

The Year of the Witching
By Alexis Henderson

The religious hypocrisy had me seeing red, but the fmc's decisions felt plausible. Emmanuel's journey didn't come out of nowhere-she was treated poorly because of her parents and instead of suppressing the woods call, she used it.

Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn

Spoiler:
I will say this isn't my usual genre. But this was a letdown. Corie spent the entire book saying she didn't want to be married and she didn't want a life at court, BUT in a moment she decides she loves Kent and becomes Queen? 😒

By Hannah Whitten

This book has unique magic. Necromancers use threads of death to manipulate corpses. Surges of magic leak from a long dead goddess. I fear that I am team Bastian, if we get a more romantic subplot. Gabe annoys me and Lore can too. Sometimes her quips are a bit much.

This book gets intense. As you read, more disturbing layers unfold for Michael and his family-kidn@pping, mud3er, ab*se. The beginning was slow, and I set it down for a few months and came back in audiobook. The end didn't disappoint, but it did disturb.

This story pleasantly surprised me. I enjoyed reading this and the interesting take Renner has on the Feywild. Im not a fan of mafia books, but I have already gotten the next book because I want to know what happens. 😏 See you at Once Upon A CON in DC!

March reading at a glance! This month was a roller-coaster of great and not so good reads!

March flew, and I spent time reading manga and comics in addition to the books below.

What's the best book you've read so far in 2025?

Case in point....artist Iwashita should ashamed of this storyline. Which is, underage high schooler falls for late 20s, almost 30, boarding house roomate. He just says: We can date when you graduate - ergo he is already attracted to her and into her.

Too common a trope, its giving groomer.

America is a joke. End equity? You do realize that ending "transgenderism" is calling for the eradication of an entire group of people. Another genocide on American soil.

We can stop funding the programs that actually help Americans, but spend 500 billions on AI.

Pt. 2 of some of my 2025 book journal spreads. I've been making each review a collage project of sorts, creating an illustration for each book and writing down my base thoughts.

I wanted to post a few of my book journal 2025 spreads. Just to show that you can have fun with your journal and not have to worry about it looking like a professional piece of art. I've been using this as a way to create more and have fun with the journal.

The frigid temps are making me reminisce to warmer times cozied up with Noodle and my latest read. I finished Immortal Dark this fall. Have you read it?

My first 4 in 2025. Poppy War and The Priory of the Orange Tree were the standouts here with excellent world building, characterization, and plot driven conflict.
