Here's an example: USS Michigan's mast collapsed during a storm in January 1918.

Cage masts were a distinguishing feature of US battleships from the 1900s until the 1930s.

They thought would be less susceptible to damage and isolate fire control equipment from shock. They failed at the latter and proved vulnerable to weather.

They were replaced with tripod masts in the 1930s

USS Wyoming during late World War II, her large guns have been entirely replaced with lighter anti-aircraft weaponry to train gunners.

USS Delaware (BB-28) was one of the 1910 battleships (the US was building two per year). Armed with ten 12-inch guns like the later Florida class, she and her sister were scrapped due to the Washington Naval Treaty.

USS Florida (BB-30) was one of the 1911 battleships, armed with ten 12-inch guns. While she survived the cutbacks in the Washington Naval Treaty in 1921, she was decommisioned and scrapped in accordance with the London Naval Treaty of 1930.

Wyoming (BB-32) and Arkansas (BB-33) are sisters commissioned in 1912. They were armed with twelve 12-inch guns in six turrets.

Both saw service in WW2, Arkansas in shore bombardment and Wyoming as a training ship.

Wyoming fired more rounds than any othe USN ship in the war, none at an enemy.

New York (BB-34) and Texas (BB-35) were sister ships armed with ten 14-inch gun commissioned in 1914.

Texas is the only surviving dreadnought battleship in the world. All other battleship museums are WW2 era fast battleships or the pre-dreadnought Mikasa in Japan.

Midway (2019): just copy/paste seven Pennsylvania class ships in and hope no one notices.

Tora Tora Tora (1970) we will build a 1:1 scale recreation of Nagato just for the opening scene.

The US once had a pre-dreadnought museum ship. USS Oregon (BB-3), an Indiana class battleship was a museum in her home state from 1925 until 1942.

Once World War II began, the Navy reclaimed the ship to use as a storage hulk. She was broken up in Japan in 1956.

Today in history, 1942: USS New Jersey is launched one year to the day after Pearl Harbor. She would finish fitting out and be commissioned on May 23rd 1943.

SMS Pommern was a pre-dreadnought of the Kaiserliche Marine commissioned in 1905. She was destroyed spectacularly with all hands at the Battle of Jutland by a torpedo fired from HMS Onslaught.

She was the only battleship in either fleet to be sunk at the battle.
