obviously plenty of other things should have already been disqualifying but people willing to defy Trump publicly and appeal to decency as their reason for doing so both seem pretty good

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Experts say it’s highly unusual for the White House to tell agents to give up custody of potential evidence in an investigation, as it did with the Tates.

“I’ve never heard of anything like that in my 30 years working,” an ex-DHS official said.

Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

Among other things, the (nebulous but clearly unconstitutional) attack on naturalized US citizens contained in this screed is a significant escalation.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

Between tearing babies from their parents' arms and traumatizing countless children, abandoning climate action and environmental protection, and loosing RFK on public health, the Trump Administration is engaging in quite a bit of child sacrifice. To their right-mania goals.
Vance loves to deploy fabricated racist fearmongering. First Haitians are eating the pets, now Indigenous people sacrificed children?! Sheesh.

Putin's dictatorship has institutionalized the oppression of women not only by decriminalizing domestic violence, but by creating schools to brainwash women into accepting unpaid domestic servitude as their "natural" lot in life. Hence the denigration of paid work.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services is indefinitely halting all immigration requests involving Afghan refugees.

They are pretending that they are doing this in response to today's shooting in DC—but in fact, they ordered this *before* the shooting.

They create crises, then capitalize on them.
The folks at @afghanevac.bsky.social have in hand a new USCIS directive which largely targets Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.
